CDF Commends Sen. Rockefeller and Rep. Stark for Introducing MediKids Health Insurance Act |
The Children's Defense Fund (CDF) applauds Congressman Pete Stark and Senator John Rockefeller for introducing the MediKids Health Insurance Act of 2005.
"This proposal from Congressman Stark and Senator Rockefeller once again puts a national spotlight on the importance of providing health coverage for America's uninsured children," said CDF President David Hornbeck. "Congressman Stark and Senator Rockefeller rightly recognize that this country has the resources to give every child the health care he or she needs if we make the right choices.
"What does it say about our priorities when the president and Congress are proposing even more tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans at the same time they are cutting health care for our most vulnerable children? Let's choose to make children's health care a priority and pass MediKids."
