Join Children’s Defense Fund-Texas, Luncheon Chair Cheryl Byington, Honorary Co-Chairs Alie and David Pruner and CDF president Marian Wright Edelman for a special community celebration of five Houston-area youths who beat tremendous odds to succeed academically and give back to their community.  The special event will also honor Dr. Terry B. Grier, Superintendent of Schools, Houston ISD and Dr. Charles D. Fraser, Jr. Surgeon-In-Chief, Texas Children’s Hospital as 2015 Champions of Children. The celebration takes place Thursday, May 21, 2015 at The Hilton Americas Hotel – Ballroom of the Americas, in downtown Houston.
